SMASHING LAND & AIR BOMBARDMENT MAXIMUM ITALIAN CONCENTRATION. LOYALIST LINES HOLDING FIRM. (Recd This Day, Noon.) LONDON, July 22. The “Daily Telegraph’s” ...Valencia correspondent says Italian artillery, concentrated on a twenty-mile front from Begis to Benafer, supported by a crashing aerial bombardment, laid down the heaviest barrage of the present war in a furious attempt to smash the first defensive line protecting Valencia, in preparation for a large scale tank and infantry attack. Nevertheless the loyalists hold firm.
