SACRED CONCERT

A musical event of exceptional interest is announced for Tuesday evening next at 7.30 in Knox Church, Masterton, when the choir and organist, assisted by Mr and Mrs Russell J. Laurenson, of Wellington, will present a concert of sacred music. The excellent choir will be heard at its best in anthems and choruses by Handel, Mozart, Elgar, Gounod, Goss and Tertins Noble, some of which are unaccompanied works. The oragnist, Mr Charles W. Kerry, will play a number of pieces new to Masterton. Mr Laurenson, whose fame extends throughout the Dominion, will sing the great aria from the “Messiah.” “The Trumpet Shall Sound,” and Mrs Laurenson, with other soloists, will contribute to a thoroughly enjoyable programme. Admission is free, but a collection will be taken in aid of the Building Fund.
