WELLINGTON SALE. IMPROVEMENT IN PRICES. " An almost general improvement in the prices of sheepskins and hides was shown at the sale held yesterday by the Wellington brokers. Large catalogues were well cleared under keen competition. Sheepskins: Competition was exceptionally keen for all grades and an advance of Id to id per lb on last sale’s prices was recorded. Hides: With the exception of heavy grades, the market was generally improved. Medium and lightweights were par to l-8d higher, heavy kip par, light kip 3-Bd, yearling 4d to jjd, and calf Jd, all higher. Tallow: This market is still weak and prices showed little change on late rates. The range of prices is as follows: — Dry shepeskins: Halfbred, 7d to 9jd; fine crossbred, 7|d to 9d; medium crossbred, 7}d to 8,Id; coarse crossbred, 6Jd to BJd; half wools, s:,'d to BJd; quarter wools, 5d to 6Jd; pelts, 2jd to 4jd. Salted skins: Half wools to 3/6; threequarter wools, 3/11 to 4/1; full wools to 5/6. Hides: Ox, 331 b to 441 b, 4d to sd; 451 b to 521 b, 4|d to 5 7-8 d; 531 b to 591 b, 5 3-8 d to 6id; 601 b to 691 b, 6d to 7 l-8d; 701 b and over, 6Jd to 7 l-Bd. Cow, 33 lb to 391 b, 3d to sd; 401 b to 481 b, 3 7-8 d to sd; 491 b and over, 4d to s{d. Kip, 251 b to 321 b, 3Jd to 5 5-8 d; 171 b to 24 lb, 2}d to 73d. Yearling, 111 b to 161 b, 4d to 7 5-Bd. Calf, 91b to 101 b, 7d to 8d; 61b to 81b, 6d to 9 3-8 d; lib to 51b, 4Jd to 9 3-Bd. Tallow: In casks, 15s 3d; in tins, 7s to 9s 3d. Sundries: Cow tails, lid. Horsehair, 154 d.
