THE REGENT
“LEAVE IT TO ME.” Sandy Powell’s new hit “Leave It To Me,” which will come to the Regent Theatre tonight for three days, is one of the funniest comedy pictures which the management has secured for some time. All that need be said about the story is that it concerns Sandy Powell’s activities as a special constable. Supporting the star is a very strong cast of talented British players, including Iris March as the heroine, Garry Marsh as the superintendent, Franklin Dyall in the role of the mysterious Chinese, and Wally Patch as the al 1-in-wrestling referee. GRACE MOORE—SATURDAY. “I’ll Take Romance,” in which Grace Moore makes her long-awaited return to the screen this time opposite Melvyn Douglas, will open on Saturday at the Regent Theatre. As in her previous singing roles, Miss Moore is party to a romantic-comic set-up, embellishing her role with renditions of several memorable operatic arias, the hill-billy ditty, “She’ll Be Cornin’ Round the Mountain,” and a love ballad bearing the film’s title written especially for Miss Moore. In the supporting cast are Stuart Erwin, Helen Westley, Richard Carle, Margaret Hamilton, and Frank Forest, the radio tenor. It is a great picture with a great array of talent.
