FOR EARACHE

USE OF GLYCERINE. All through one’s childhood days there was but one cure for earache — “Glycerine.” two or three drops heated slightly and dropped into the ear soon soothed the pain and secured sleep. Earache is not the only thing glycerine can remedy. Do you lose your voice? If so, a dose of equal parts of glycerine and lemon juice will quickly restore it. However, care must be taken with the use of glycerine, as in some cases it is unsuitable and causes a swelling of the lips, etc. , Tea stains, which are often such a problem, can be successful removed from linen if a little glycerine is rubbed on to the stained parts before washing. Fruit stains, especially old ones, often prove obstinate, but again call glycerine,-to the rescue. Rub the stain all over with glycerine and put the cloth aside for an hour. Then, stretching the material tightly/pour boiling water through it. Two parts of glycerine, mixed with six parts of warm water, will remove milk stains. Put the mixture into a shallow bowl, rest the stained part in it, and rub the stained article gently. Leave for some minutes,, then, if necessary, apply more glycerine solution. Finally,. rinse the material thoroughly and the stain will disappear.
