RETURNED SOLDIERS’ BALL. (“Times-Age” Special.) What promises to be the ball of the season will be held under the auspices of the local branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association in the Anzac Hall on Thursday evening, July 28. BADMINTON MATCH. A local team journeyed to Wellington on Saturday and played several games against Karori, when they were defeated by a good margin. The Karori Club entertained the visitors and made the outing most enjoyable. FEATHERSTON LIBRARY. The Featherston Library will be open as follows until further notice: — Reading room: Open Monday to Friday inclusive, 9 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Lending library: Monday to Thursday, 2 to 4 p.m., and 7 to 8.30 p.m. Fridays, 2to 4 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. QUERY CLUB. Mr Andrews, of Wellington, will show coloured cinema views of Europe at the Query Club gathering on Thursday night.
