EXCHANGE OF LETTERS

BRITISH & FRENCH PRIME MINISTERS ON EVE OF ROYAL VISIT NEW EVIDENCE OF CLOSE CONCORD (Recd This Day, 10.50 a.m.) RUGBY, July 18. Private letters exchanged between the British Prime Minister (Mr Chamberlain) and the French Premier (M Daladier), in anticipation of the Royal visit to France, which have been the subject of some comment in the Press in Paris and in London, were mentioned in the House of Commons at question time. Mr Chamberlain told Mr Arthur Henderson that the letters were of a private character, and not intended for publication. “I may, however, state, “that the results of the correspondence have been once more to show the close concord which exists between the two Governments on all matters of common concern.”
