Misses Vera Judd and E. Ralph are Masterton visitors to Wellington. Mr and Mrs A. G. Jenkins, Hastings, visited Masterton at the week-end. Mr and Mrs T. Burr, of Pahiatua, were week-end visitors to Masterton. ■ Mesdames H. E. Pither and H. Matthews, of Masterton, were weekend visitors to Wanganui. Mrs A. J. Skjellerup, of Invercargill, is spending a few days with Mrs Harry Evans, “Woodleigh,” Kopuaranga. • Mr and Mrs R. Fraser, of Hastings, were the guests of Mr and Mrs W. H. Saunders, Essex Street, Masterton, for the week-end. Miss Nesta Woodhouse and Mr Nor.man Ninnes, whose marriage will take place shortly, were guests of honour at an enjoyable gathering of members of the St Matthew’s Church Choir in the Common Room of the Parish Hall on Saturday night. On behalf of the choir, of which both Miss Woodhouse and Mr Ninnes are members, the vicar, the Rev E. J. Rich, made a presentation to the bride and bridegroom-to-be, and extended best wishes for their future happiness and prosperity. The evening was spent in dancing, competitions and games. ENGAGEMENT. The engagement is announced of Beryl Winifred, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs V. L. Robinson, Carterton, to Roy George, younger son of Mrs E. Sowman and the late Mr T. Sowman, Wanganui. z FEATHERSTON The Misses E. and A. Bracegirdle, who have been spending a holiday in Featherston, have left for their home at Stratford. The many friends of Miss G. Ridler, a frequent visitor to Featherston, will regret to hear that her father, Mr W. S. Ridler, of Nairn Street, Wellington, was struck by a motor car and killed on Saturday night.
