HENLEY MURDER
CHARGE AGAINST PARKS TRIAL OPENED IN SUPREME COURT. MAY OCCUPY FOUR DAYS. DUNEDIN. July 17. The trial commenced in the Supreme Court this morning, before Mr Justice Kennedy, of Eric Sandagger Parks, aged 28, who is charged with the murder of Frances Amelia Lee at Henley on April 14. Accused, who is represented by Mr C. J. L. White, with him Mr J. B. Thomson, pleaded not guilty. The Crown Prosecutor, Mr F. B. Adams, is conducting the case for the Crown. Twenty witnesses are to be called and it is expected that the case will occupy four clays. The jury was empannelled after 10 challenges, the Judge then adjourning the Court for 10 minutes, to enaoie the jurymen to make, through the police, the necessary home arrangements, since they will be kept together throughout the trial.
