REBELS MAKING HEADWAY TOWARDS VALENCIA Republican Defences Penetrated on Wide Front ITALIAN MECHANISED DIVISION HEADING ATTACK By Telegraph—Press Association.—Copyright. (Received This Day, 9.40 a.m.) SARAGOSSA, July 17. Reports, partly confirmed from Madrid, indicate that General Franco’s big push successfully continues. The rebels under General Varela, headed by a mechanised Italian division, report the capture of Barracas - Albentosa, San Augustin, Pina and Alcolas breaking a i depthi of nine miles on a twenty-two mile front and exposing Sagunto, which will be fiercely defended, to the most powerful war machine yet mobilised in Spain. The coastal column is now twelve miles from Sagunto. BRITISH LABOUR RESOLUTION. (Received This Day, 9.30 July „ The National Council of Labour, on the second anniversary of the civil war in Spain, calls upon all kindred movements to join the Labour Party in declaring solidarity with the Government of Spain. ARAB REINFORCEMENTS. MAY BE INTENDED TO REPLACE ITALIANS. (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, July 17. Reports from Algiers and Gibraltar state that thousands of Arabs are crossing from Spanish Morocco to Algeciras and Malaga. They are possibly intended to replace Italian volunteers if the latter are withdrawn from Spain. DECORATIONS FOR NAZIS. (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) •. '> BURGOS, July 17. General Franco’s cabinet has decided to copter decorations on Marshal Goering’ and Count Ciano, in commemoration of the second anniversary of the civil war. • \
