SHOW ARRANGEMENTS
WAIRARAPA P. AND A. SOCIETY MEETING. SUCCESSFUL ANNUAL BALL. (“Times-Age” Special.) The president, Mr J. Fisher, occupied the chair at the monthly meeting of the Wairarapa P. and A. So-' ciety, held at Carterton this morning. There was a large attendance of members. Mr Fisher s extended a welcome to Mr R. Cundy, a new member of the committee. Reporting on the financial position, the treasurer, Mr G. Brown, stated that there was a credit balance in the bank of £24 3s fid and a credit in the Post Office, mainly reserve fund, of £409 7s 2d. Mr Brown said that the association’s ball, held recently in Featherston, resulted in a loss of Ils 3d. The result, however, was very satisfactory. They did not anticipate making money out of the ball and if they could put on a good dance and pay their way they were well satisfied. Mr C. J. Nix said it was a particularly enjoyable dance and the Featherston committee, which organised it, was well pleased with the result. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the Featherston committee for the splendid work done in organising the ball.
The Southdown Sheep Breeders’ Society wrote stating that it had donated a medal for the best 2-th ram i,n natural condition at the next Wairarapa Show. A vote of condolence was passed with the relatives of the late Mr W. H. Bird, a member of the committee, in the loss of his father.
