1940 OLYMPIAD
INVITATION TO FINLAND EXPECTED. (Recd This Day, 1.25 p.m.) LONDON, July 15. The Helsingfors correspondent of “The Times” says it is now expected that Finland will be invited to arrange the 1940 Olympiad. The International Council, it is believed, will ratify the decision without delay as the time for preparations is short. Experts agree that Finland will be able to arrange a good sporting Olympiad on classic lines without extra events. They consider July 10 to be the best date as August is rainy.
