WALL STREET SETBACK
COURTAULD’S DIVIDEND CUT SHARES MARKED DOWN HEAVILY (Recd This Day, 10.35 a.m.) LONDON, July 14. As the result of a setback in Wall Street, Courtauld’s dividend statement, which was a great shock to city markets, is reactionary. Courtaulds have cut the interim dividend from 31 to 1J per cent, and had to draw on the carry forward to pay even that. The shares have been marked down from 35s to 295, representing a depreciation around £6,000,000.
