TURMOIL IN PALESTINE
UNPRECEDENTED SPREAD OF TERRORISM GANGSTERS RAID JEWISH SETTLEMENT ADDITIONAL NUMBERS KILLED AND INJURED (Recd This Day, 10.20 a.m.) HAIFA, July 11. ■Unprecedented terrorism prevails in Northern Palestine, where six persons were killed and 18 wounded in the last 18 hours. Gangsters raided the Jewish settlement of Givtada, killing two and wounding three. An encounter with malcontents, between Haifa and Nazareth resulted in a Jewish constable being killed, and two others being wounded. In addition a British officer was wounded slightly and a soldier seriously. A curfew was imposed at Nazareth after two bombs had been thrown at a Jewish bus. Telephone communication has been stopped, owing to widespread wire-cut-ing. POLICE INSPECTOR SHOT DEAD. JERUSALEM, July 11. Four armed men entered a barber’s shop in Tulkaram and shot dead an Arab police inspector who was having an early shave.
