JAPAN FLATLY REJECTS MEDIATION BIG BATTLE EXPECTED IN HONAN. CHINESE CROSS YELLOW RIVER. By Telegraph —Press Association. Copyright. TOKIO, July 11. The Foreign Office spokesman, questioned as to the possibility of mediation, said Japan would flatly reject third-Power intervention at any time. Further successes are claimed by the Japanese in their advance in southern Shansi. A big battle is expected in northern Honan, where the Chinese are reported to have crossed the Yellow River to the north and to be nearing Hwaikingfu.
