FATAL ACCIDENT

GREYTOWN CYCLIST KILLED. COLLISION WITH MOTOR-CAR. A man named Charles Higgison, a labourer, of Greytown, was knocked off his bicycle in Greytown on Sunday evening by a motor-car driven by Mr lan Mcßae, of Tyneside. The injured man was admitted to the Greytown Hospital in a serious condition and he died on Sunday night. The accident occurred about 5.30 p.m. on Sunday and Mr Higgison succumber to his injuries at 11 o’clock the same evening.

Both parties were proceeding north and the accident occurred just south of the bowser station at the entrance to Greytown. Dr Oakey was summoned to the scene of the accident and immediately ordered the injured man to be taken to the hospital. Mr Higgison who sustained head injuries, was 59 years of. age, and is survived by his wife and a grown up family. Mrs Higgison is at present bn a holiday in Christchurch.
