SECRET RECORD FLIGHT MADE BY ROYAL AIR FORCE MACHINES DISTANCE COVERED IN 32 HOURS (Recd This Day, 9.35 a.m.) LONDON, July 8. The Air Ministry has announced that a secret record non-stop flight formation flight, was made by four Air Force Vickers-Wellesley machines, from Cranwell to Ismalia, a distance of 4300 miles. The flight was accomplished in 32 hours, at an average ground speed of 135 miles per hour. ■ The first news of the flight was given out after the landing at Ismalia. The formation left Cranwell at 4.15 a.m., British Standard time, today. The planes flew to a point between Koweit and Bahrein, thence westward to Ismalia. The average height' maintained was 10,000 feet and good conditions were experienced throughout the flight. Progress was reported regularly by wireless. The was also continual communication between the planes.
