Rain prevented any play in the Test cricket match today. There were showers at intervals early in the afternoon and the decision to abandon play for the day was made shortly after 2.30 p.m. The weather bureau, in a special forecast for Saturday, predicts considerable bright periods and showers, with possible thunder. There is no information .yet as to the teams, nor has there been any toss. ETON-HARROW MATCH. (Recd This Day, 10.40 a.m.) LONDON, July 8. . In the Eton-Harrow match, Eton’s first innings realised 230 (Thomas 66). Harrow in the first innings has lost one wicket for' 26 runs.
