WAIRARAPA UNION. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. At the usual meeting of the Wairarapa Rugby Union’s executive the Old Boys lodged a complaint that confusing lines on Memorial Park, Masterton, left by the Hockey Association, was the cause of their game with Red Star being lost, and asked that should the game have a bearing on the championship, it be replayed.—lt was resolved that Old Boys be advised that in the opinion of the Union the game should not be replayed, as the referee pointed out to both teams the confusing lines complained of before the kick off and neither team made any complaint the 4. The Wairarapa College Pipe Band will play selections during the Hawke’s Bay v Wairarapa game at Masterton on July 16. It was resolved that the junior championship be closed on July 9, after which a round of games will be played for the Pearson Cup, at the conclusion of which the holders will play the team highest up. The fourth grade competition will be closed at the conclusion of the fourth round.

The Hawke’s Bay Union,' advised their acceptance, with thanks, of the invitation to attend the Red Star Club’s dance at Masterton on July 16. The Primary Schools' Union are to be asked to provide an early game to the Wairarapa v Wellington game on July 20 at Masterton. Manawatu will play Wairarapa at Carterton on Saturday, August 6. Mr H. J. McKenzie was appointed to referee the Hawke’s Bay v Wairarapa game at Masterton on July 16. A junior player who was ordered off on June 4 appeared to answer a charge of misconduct. As the player had stood down for two Saturdays pending his appearance, the Union decided that he had been sufficiently punished. Mr L. Pearson made a donation of £2 to the Union funds, for which he was thanked.

Mr Keith Reid was appointed to manage the'junior representative team to Hawke’S Bay on July 16. The team will travel by motor bus, leaving on Friday, July 15, at 9 a.m. To manage the Wairarapa senior team to play Hawke’s Bay at Masterton on July 16 Mr S. Henson was appointed, and Mr L. Pearson was appointed to manage the team to play Wellington at Masterton on July 20,
