A number of pupils of the Carterton District High School, under the charge of Mr Leete, one of the teachers of the school, journeyed to Wellington yesterday by the special race train. MINIATURE RIFLES MATCH. The Wairarapa miniature rifle team will travel to Wellington tomorrow to fire an inter-association match with the Wellington representatives on the range at the Winter Show Building. A cup for competition has been donated and will be known as the FrostJohnson Cup. The winners of the trophy will bear the cost of engraving the trophy. A representative match between the Bush district and Wairarapa teams will be fired early next month. LOOKING FOR TROUBLE. Cylclists training for road racing in the Wairarapa take many undue risks. Last evening and on previous evenings after dark they are to be seen riding their cycles without lights, and between the bright lights of motor cars it is difficult to detect them. These cyclists make their training track between Masterton and Carterton and vice versa. It is hoped this warning will be the means of 'saving what eventually may be a serious accident. FOOTBALL. Can Carterton uphold its reputation and beat Old Boys football fifteen at Memorial Park, Masterton, on Saturday. The local players have been training solidly and if successful on Saturday they will be hard to beat, for championship honours. GOVERNMENT DWELLING.
