MR H. R. THOMSON
PROMOTED TO CORRESPONDENCE SCHOOL. NOTEWORTHY SERVICE IN MASTERTON. Mr H. R. Thomson, of the staff of Wairarapa College has received notice of his appointment to an A grade position as an English teacher in the Education Department’s Correspondence School at Wellington: Mr Thomson has. been associated with the Wairarapa High School, later Wairarapa College, for some 12 years, although that period has been broken. Mr Thomson was first a member of the High School staff for 5 years, and after being away for a similar period, returned to Masterton about 7 years ago. While in Masterton, Mr Thomson has taken an active interest in drama work, being responsible for a number of noteworthy productions at the school. He is a keen member of the British Drama League. Library matters have also occupied his attention, both as master in charge of the school library and at one stage as a member of the Masterton Borough Council Library Committee. Mr Thomson will probably leave to take up .his new duties in about two months’ time.
