TOES AND HEELS
A STOCKING HINT. FOR THE HOME KNITTER. When socks or stocking are knitted at home it is a good plan to buy a ball of silk to match the wool, and use both together when knitting the heels and toes. This makes them wear longer. The silk may also be used with advantage for darning the heels when they begin to wear out. It is neater than wool, and does not fray so easily,
