MISSING SHIP
NEWS WANTED OF ADMIRAL KARPFANGER LONDON, July 5. Lloyds have broadcast a message to all ships asking for news of the German sailing ship Admiral Karpfanger, which was last reported off Cape Horn. The Admiral Karkfanger is owned by the Hamburg Amerika Line. She is laden with wheat from Port Germein, South Australia, and anxiety has been felt for her safety for some days. The owners, however, according to a recent message, are confident that the vessel is safe, pointing out that sailing ships are often forced by the wind to keep away from steamer tracks.
