SATISFACTORY PROGRESS

MADE BY FORESTERS’ LODGE. The fortnightly meeting of the Foresters' Lodge was held in the Foresters’ Hall, Masterton, on Monday night when there was a good attendance of members presided over by C.R. Bro. T. N. N. Coley. The sick visitors reported that the members on the sick list were progressing favourably. The secretary reported that three brothers had declared on the sick funds and t\vo had declared off, One friend' was initiated into the Order by C.R. Bro. T. N. N. Coley, assisted by S.C.R. Bro. C. A. Leigh, and P.C.R. Bro. G. G. Jackson. A letter was received from the Druids’ Lodge challenging the Foresters to a game of indoor bowls at the close of their meeting on July 11. The secretary was instructed to notify the Druids’ Lodge that the challenge had been accepted. Bro. R. Davies reported on the U.F.S. card tournament and Bro. C. A. Leigh reported on the Saturday night euchre tournament and the indoor bowls.

The secretary presented the quarterly returns and balance sheet which showed that the lodge was progressing satisfactorily. Bro. G. Selby presented P.C.R. Bro. R. L. Crocker with a P.C.R. neck ribbon. Bro. Crocker thanked the members, for the presentation. Sick pay and accounts amounting to £162 6s Od were passed for payment.
