Owing to danger of extermination the Argentine Government has forbidden creatures of the cat family to be hunted for the next three years, and thereafter only from May to July. The animals so protected include the mountain cat, wild cat, leopard, panther, jaguar, American tiger, straw cat (gate pajero), pampa cat, and lynx cat.
