ENGLISH AMATEUR TOURNEY. FIRST QUALIFYING ROUND. (Recd This Day, 10.20 a.m.) LONDON, July 4. The first qualifying round at the Royal St. George Course resulted:— Locke 69, R. A. Whitcombe and Rees 71, Cotton 72, Hattersley and Nettlefold 75, Sweeney 77, Herd 79. Results at Prince’s Course were: — Alfred Perry 69, Padgham and Havers 71, Brews 72, Hector Thompson 74, E. R. Whitcombe 75, George Duncan 77, Ryan and Brain 80. Lacey and E. E. Whitcombe, both at St. Georges, are leading the field with 68. Perry was the only competitor to break 70 at Prince's.
