Mrs R. Page,, of Masterton, is a visitor to Wellington.

Mrs K. Gaynor and Miss A. Stempa, of Kaituna, are visiting Wellington. Mrs R. S. Haybittie, of Hawera, is the guest of Mrs Haybittie, Essex Street, Masterton.

Nurse Mavis Montgomerie, of the Wellington Hospital staff, is spending her vacation in Greytown.

Miss Robbins, of Wellington, was the guest of Mrs A. Robbins, "Poi Poi,” Featherston, for the week-end.

Miss Margaret Pownall, a niece of the late Mr C. A. Pownall, of Masterton, is now on the nursing staff of the Masterton Public Hospital. At the Basilica, Hill Street, Wellington, recently, Kathleen (Kitty), eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. A. von Keisenberg, Northland, Wellington, was married to Kerr Alexander Maxwell, eldest son of Mrs Maxwell and the late Mr Alexander Maxwell, Hamilton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev Monseignor Connelly, and the organist was Miss J. Milligan. The bridesmaids were Miss Muriel Hunt, chief, and the Misses Margaret and Theresa Von Keisenberg, sisters of the bride. Several delightful dances and parties have been held recently in honour of Miss Nesta Woodhouse, a popular Masterton girl, whose marriage will take place shortly. Other hostesses have also arranged future parties in her honour. Miss Jean Dickens, Pownall (Street, gave a cheery dance for Miss /Woodhouse and her fiance at her home, when 40 young people were present, each bringing an attractive gift for her future home. Miss Edna Brass invited friends to an enjoyable afternoon party, when the guest of honour received many pretty and useful gifts. There was a large attendance of members at the Arcade Hall, Masterton, on Saturday, when the Masterton Aero Club held another successful cabaret party. Dancing was enjoyed to the music provided by an excellent orchestra, and an item by Mr Gerrand and his clever performing dog was enthusiastically applauded. Members of the committee responsible for the excellent arrangements were: Mrs J. A. Betts, Misses Jocelyn Betts, Aila Beetham, Patricia Jordan and Jose Hosking, and Messrs N. R. Cunningham, Keith Cameron, A. Wardell and N. Beetham.

ENGAGEMENT. The engagement is announced of Marjorie Rayne, youngest daughter of Mrs and the late Mr J. Rayne, Masterton, to Alexander Campbell, eldest son of Mr and Mrs James Begg, 43 Ross Street, Dunedin.
