KING’S CUP

A. HENSHAW WINS ANNUAL AIR RACE. LONDON, July 2. The annual King’s Cup air race round England was won by A. Henshaw, flying a Mew Gull, with a handicap of llmin 4sec and conceding 2hr 38min Isec to the limit man. He averaged 236{ miles an hour, the fastest time in the race, for which there is a special prize of £3OO in addition to the £BOO first prize. Guthrie, also in a Mew Gull, with a handicap of 18min, was second. Flying Officer Clouston, accompanied by his wife, in a B.A. Eagle, with a handicap of 2hr 46Jmin, retired at the tenth lap owing to a stoppage in the petrol tank. There were 14 competitors and conditions were perfect.
