WINTER STAKES TO MATORU. CHAT WINS HACK CUP. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) MARTON, July 3. Favoured by a fine day, the Marton Jockey Club staged a successful extra race meeting on Saturday in the presence of a good attendance. The totalisator handled £10,203 10s for the day. There was no meeting last year, but it is an increase of £3507 10s on the fixture of 1936. Results:—

At Flemington on Saturday the following was the result of the — GRAND NATIONAL HURDLES, three miles. Dakwood, 10.3 (Douglas) 1 Wallace Drake, 9.4 (McKee) 2 Giant Killer, 9.2 (Dummett) 3 Time, 5.50.]. Frisco was scratched. Heroic Chief made the early pace, but Giant Killer led over the last fence. Dakwood then raced to the front, and although hotly challenged by Wallace Drake, won by half a head. Giant Killer was a length and a half away third. Pooley Bridge looked like gaining a place approaching the straight, but faded away. Whernside was always in the bunch. A protest by Wallace Drake for alleged interference was dismissed. DOOMBEN CUP. WON BY BROWN LANCE. BRISBANE, July 3. The following was the result of the DOOMBEN CUP, one mile and 3 fur.
