MANUFACTURED WORD
The French admire the English language for its large number of practical words,' but occasionaly they manufacture English words which are not English and have no currency on our' side of the Channel. One of the latest of these is “Tourisme,” a convenient noun for tourist travel. Wherever you go in France you find notices informing you that you can hire automobiles for “le tourisme,” or that such a place is famous for “le tourisme.”
