MURDERER’S CONFESSIONS

OWN LIFE STORY WRITTEN IN GAOL. Eugene Weidmann, sadistic self-con-fessed murderer of six people, is writing his life story for an American magazine. He works day and night in his cell. It is believed that he has sold his story for £4OO. Already he has filled three large notebooks, describing the “psychiatrical influences” which led to the murders. Weidmann is writing at feverish pace to finish his story before his trial opens. He hopes to have his story finished by the end of this month. Weidmann, a German, wept profusely in his cell on December 16 when he confessed to his crimes. He inserted advertisements for governesses, and shot the applicants for their money.

In his villa at St Cloud, police found the names and addresses of 40 women who had answered his advertisements. Weidmann kept a careful diary. It led to the discovery of his murders.
