CZECH PROBLEM
AGGRESSIVE DEMAND MADE BV SUDETENS “COMPLETE POLITICAL REVISION.” PRESIDENT CALLS FOR FAIR PLAY. i PRAGUE, July 1. A few hours after Dr Benes, President of Czechoslovakia, had delivered a speech in Prague announcing his belief t'hat a solution of the minorities’ problem was in sight, the Parliamentary group of the Sudeten German
Party issued a communique declaring that a basis for the solution of the problem demanded a “complete revision of the political conceptions” of the Czechs. This also, declared the communique, could ensure the necessary reconstruction of the State, which must include a large measure of autonomy for the Sudeten Germans. Dr. Benes, in his speech, called for fair play from both sides. “In the interests of Czechoslovakia and European peace the Government will go to the utmost limit,” he said.
