In the final of the men’s championship singles at the Wimbledon tournament between H. W. Austin (Great Britain) and J. D. Budge (U.S.A.), the latter was in devastating form. Austin, despite his pluck and resource, was often unable to get within yards of Budge’s whizzling drives. Budge won fourteen games on end till Austin broke through the American’s service in the third set. The results were as follow: — .MEN’S SINGLES. (Holder: J. D. Budge, U.S.A.) Final. J. D. Yorke (Great Britain) defeated Mesdames D. B. Andrus (U.S.A.) and S. Herotin (France), 3/6, 6/3, 6/4. Mrs S. Fabyan and Miss A. Marble (U.S.A.) defeated Mrs Heine-Miller and Miss M.
