BOROUGH RATES
(To the Editor.) Sir, —The Borough Council has raised our rates. The Fire Board levy appears to be about £5OO more this year and the ratepayers have that much extra to pay. So much for our Dark town Fire Brigade. The hospital levy is up also. The councillors cannot avoid that, but they have presented £lOO to the Aero Club, a little pill for the ratepayers to swallow. Might I ask for the names of the councillors who voted for this £lOO to be published, also those who voted against it, or was it done behind closed doors? Will some authority oblige with the names?—l am, etc., INTERESTED.
(The grant in question was approved by the Borough Council in committee. —Ed.)
