Lapointe (Minister of Justice) announced that Canada, Britain, and the United States were co-operating in espionage investigation, particularly in Nazi activities, Communism and Fascism. Within Canada there was no real danger. He urged calmness regarding alarming statements made at public meetings by people anxious to appear as important public figures. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police were watching the situation closely and the situation was well in hand.
