BILL PASSED BY FEDERAL PARLIAMENT CONTRIBUTIONS TO BEGIN IN JANUARY. / MEDICAL AND OTHER BENEFITS. (Recd This Day, 10.50 a.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. The National Insurance Bill has been passed by the Federal Parliament and the scheme wil come into operation on January 1, 1938. Employers and employees will have to make their contributions from January 2. Medical benefits will be among the first to which insured persons will become entitled. They will begin soon after April.
