The Wimbledon tennis tournament was continued today. Miss Jacobs rose to a big occasion and was better than Miss Marble, who • hit more winners than Miss Jacobs but foozled returns at a critical point. Mrs Wills-Moody and Mrs Sperling had a marathon, the first set lasting over an hour, with innumerable drawn out rallies and deuces. Mrs Sperling dropped two set- ’ points in the first set, which Mrs WillsMoody won after her third set-point. The results were as follow:— WOMEN’S SINGLES. (Holder: Miss Round, Gt. Britain.) Semi-finals. Mrs Wills-Moody (U.S.A.) defeated Mrs S. Sperling (Denmark), 12/10, 6/4. Miss H. Jacobs (U.S.A.) defeated Miss A. Marble (Great Britain), 6/4, 6/4. MEN’S DOUBLES. (Holders: J. D. Budge and C. G. Mako, U.S.A.) Fourth Round. Kukuljevic (Yugoslavia) and J. Pallada (Yugoslavia) defeated J. B. Sturgeon and Tuckett (Great Britain), 6/3, 10/8, 6/4. ■ ■ Semi-final. J. D. Budge and C. G. Mako (U.S.A.) defeated G. P. Hughes and F. H. D. Wilde (Great Britain), 6/2, 6/4, 12/10. h MIXED DOUBLES. (Holders: J. D. Budge and Miss ' Marble, U.S.A.) Fifth Round.’ H. Henkel (Germany) and Mrs Fabyan (U.S.A.) defeated J. S. Olliff (Great Britain) and Mrs Heine Miller (South Africa), 7/5, 5/7, 6/2. Quarter-finals. Russell and Miss F.
