OFFICIAL FAREWELLED

PRESENTATION TO FIELDS INSPECTOR. A warm tribute to the splendid services rendered by Mr A. W. Scott, fields inspector for the Department of Lands in the Wairarapa district for the past seven year's, was paid at a farewell gathering held yesterday afternoon. Mr Scott is leaving shortly for Hamilton on promotion, having been appointed to take charge of the Waikato district.

A presentation was made to Mr Scott by Mr A. T. P. Hubbard, on behalf of the officers of the various Government departments in Masterton. Several speakers, including Mr J. H. Handyside, chairman of the Wairarapa Mortgage Adjustment Commission, the members of which were also present, endorsed Mr Hubbard’s remarks. Mr Scott will be succeeded in Masterton by Mr Bretherton.
