LACE DEFINITELY IN
THE TOPIC OF THE HOUR. Lace for gowns, lace for wedding veils, lace for coats, lace for all those dainty collars and cuffs, which make all the difference to a frock, this is the cry of the hour. Lace is definitely in; and as a result brides are welcoming the offers of old bridal veils, whether they be of the point d’Alencon worn by Miss Anne Bowes-Lyon at her wedding with Lord Anson, or of the simpler kinds. Miss Anne Bowes-Lyon’s veil was mounted on silver and worn as an extra train from the shoulders. Another pretty fashion is to wear the lace across the shoulders as a fichu for an Empire gown, a style of frock which has been favoured by many brides of late.
