PERSONAL ITEMS

Miss I. M. Spring, of Nireaha, is on a holiday in Christchurch. Mrs D. Fraser, of Eketahuna, has returned from a visit to Hamilton. Mrs A. Falkner has returned to Eketahuna after a visit to New Plymouth. Mrs Mark Wilton is at present spending a few weeks at the Kent House Rest Home, Masterton. Mr and Mrs H. R. W. Beetham, "Highmore,” Masterton, are staying at Paraparaumu Beach. Mrs Adam McKay, who has recently returned 'from a visit to the East, is visiting friends in Masterton. Mr and Mrs R. H. Tatham, “Waikohi,” have been on a visit to Hawke’s Bay. Mr and Mrs T. Husband, Mangaweka, are staying with Mrs Husband, Senr., Cole Street, Masterton. Mrs F. Moss, Wellsford, is staying with her mother, Mrs W. McKenzie, Essex Street, Masterton.

Mrs W. Cooper and Miss J. Cooper, Renall Street, Masterton, are staying with Mrs H. McLaren, Paraparaumu Beach.

Mr and Mrs T. H. Falloon have returned to “Rosebank” after a tour of the North Island.

Mrs W. Kensington, of Palmerston North, is the guest of Mrs P. Bouzaid, Eketahuna.

Mrs Ray Owens, of Wellington, and formerly of Masterton, is visiting Masterton.

Miss Betty Drysdale, of Nireaha, has returned from a holiday spent at Lower Hutt.

Mrs C. Burton, who has been on a trip to New Plymouth, has returned to Eketahuna.

On Saturday evening Misses Jean and Flora Donald, “Papatahi,” were hostesses at a kitchen tea for Miss Erma Buick, when 40 guests were present. Dancing and games were enjoyed;- Mrs Donald wore a gown of oyster lace, -Miss Jean Donald wore blue georgette, Miss Flora Donald chose floral crepe, and Miss Buick’s frock was of floral georgette. The guest of honour received many novel and useful gifts, and Mr McLeod was presented with a silver salver. A pleasant interlude took ' place while members of the Wairarapa Paper Chase Club were holding their meet on Saturday afternoon. Mr Skeet, Morison’s Bush, entertained the members at afternoon tea at his home, when the opportunity was taken to make a presentation to Miss Erma Buick, whose marriage to Mr K. McLeod will take place tomorrow. Miss Buick, who has been a member of the club since its inauguration, was presented with an electric heater. The presentation was made by the master, Mr P. Tilson, on behalf of the members.
