SOME USEFUL HINTS. The following hints on cleaning discoloured aluminium should prove useful to housewives: — (1) Cut up several lemons, skin and all, or rhubarb does as well, put into the saucepan with a tablespoon of sugar and cover with water, making sure the water is above the stain. Then boil with the lid on the saucepan for 30 minutes. Empty the pot and clean in the ordinary way with a good aluminium cleanser. (2) Another method is the boiling of acid fruit parings in the saucepan, which : s on the same principle. (3) Still another hint is to rub the saucepan with a little damp earth from the garden. The lemon, however, will be found most satisfactory, and a cut lemon on hand for cleansing, purpose is always a good idea. Above all, never use soda on aluminium, as it darkens this ware.
