FEATHERSTON
WEEKEND SHOOTING. (“Times-Age" Special.) Taking advantage of the last few days of the shooting season a number of sportsmen spent the weekend at the Lake, but owing to the calm weather conditions few good bags were obtained. Generally speaking it has not been a good season for sportsmen. LOW FLYING. Throughout the greater part of yesterday airmen flew at a very low altitude over the township, so low indeed did one fly, that a resident thought the plane was going to crash into his house, so he immediately took shelter under a large bluegum. The reason for flying so low is best known to the airmen themselves. PERSONAL. Miss Suzanne Collins, Kahutara, will make the trip to Sydney in August for the purpose of competing in the golf championship. Mr and Mrs Stanley Geange, who for the past ten years have been farming at Te Maire, will leave the district this week and expect to settle in the Otaki district. ECLECTIC GOLF CONTEST.
