NATIONAL PARTY
POLICY STATEMENT NEXT WEEK ADDRESS BY SIR A. RANSOM (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., June 24. In an address to about 300 electors at Woodville last night, Sir Alfred Ransom. M.P. for Pahiatua, said the policy of the National Party would be placed before the people of the Dominion next week, when the new Parliamentary session opened. Sir Alfred’s address followed that of other National speakers. He strongly criticised the Prime Minister’s recent speech at Dannevirke, and made special reference to Mr Savage’s claim that the Labour Government was carrying out the ideals of the Sermon on the Mount. The fact that Mr Savage had quoted from the Scriptures on that occasion drew the comment from Sir Alfred that 19 members of Parliament had not acknowledged the Bible so far as to take the Oath of Allegiance on it.
