The race will be over 6.1 miles, and runners will be started on open handicap. Trophies will be awarded to the first two competitors home. The handicapper, Mr G. C. H. Traile, has declared the following handicaps for the event: —W. Burns, Alex McDonald, W. McDonald, scratch; R. Greeks, lOsec, W. Burgess 15sec, A. Burns, 1.10; B. Falloon, 1.30; A. L. MASTERTON CLUB VISIT TO WANGANUI TOMORROW The, Masterton Harrier Club will travel to Wanganui tomorrow, to meet the Wanganui Club for the Benson Trophy. The following members will make the trip:—Gregory, R. Shaw, I. Shaw, Frederickson, Sutherland, O’Dowd,, Long, Carle, Ross. J. Warham, C. Pringle, J. Pringle, Bell, Kempton, Pullar, Harris and Baikie. Mr A. Keats will act as manager. v As the Wanganui Club is about 50 strong this year, through the uniting of Wanganui’s two harrier clubs, this means that the Masterton Club will have a very heavy task tomorrow. Should only six or eight runners count for points, the club, with Gregory, Shaw, Frederickson, O’Dowd, Pullar, Sutherland, Ross, Long and Harris to call upon, will have every chance of a victory, but if a greater number is to count, the club will be unfortunate in that it has no “trying” tail-enders of any consequence to fall back on.

The club will be entertained to lunch at the Imperial Hotel, at afternoon tea after the run, and at a dance at night. The club is also unfortunate in that C. Wright cannot make this trip, for when the points are counted up at the end of the day his contribution will be missed by the club.
