WAIRARAPA SOUTH MEETING. NATIONAL ART GALLERY GRANT. (“Times-Age” Special.) The chairman, Mr Duncan McGregor, presided at the monthly meeting of the Wairarapa South County Council, held at Carterton this morning. “This is a provincial affair and you cannot expect Wellington to pay the lot,” observed Mr McGregor, when referring to a proposal to makg an annual grant of £l5 towards the upkeep of the National Art Gallery and Museum. He considered that the council should pay its share. A motion to make the annual contribution was carried after a brief discussion. •
