STUD SHEEP
NEW SOUTH WALES ANNUAL SHOW. ENTRIES FEWER THAN LAST YEAR. SYDNEY, June 22. Judging began today in the New South Wales sheep-breeders’ fortythird annual sheep show. Entries were fewer than last year, due to the adverse conditions. Nevertheless, the quality of the sheep exhibited was really good. British breeds provided less competition than with the exception of the Corriedales, in which there was keen competition. The New Zealander, Mr Donald Grant, had fewer exhibits than usual in the Border Leicester classes, the only award he received being a third for a pen of rams of one year, the chief prize-takers being Mr W. O'Neil and Mr W. Lawrence. Mr McSweeney and Mr Brunskills were the major prize'takers in the Southdowns.
