STUD SHEEP BREEDERS

MEETING OF WAIRARAPA COMMITTEE. ARRANGEMENTS FOR NEXT SALE. The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Stud Sheep Breeders’ Committee was held yesterday, Sir William Perry being in the chair. Arrangements were made for the next sale, which it was decided to hold on Tuesday, January 17, 1939. The order of sale wil be: Southdowns, Lincolns and Romneys and the sale will start at 11.30 a.m. It was decided that nominations close on October 15, 1938, the breeding particulars of sheep to be in hand not later than December 24, 1938. The following committee was elected: —Sir William Perry (chairman), Messrs E. C. White, G. E. Allen, R. M. Perry, H. J. Rayner, J. G. Donald, F. E. Dorset, J. Gray, T. Wyeth, L. R. Wilton, A. E. Anderson, J. Campbell and G. H. McKay. The following new rules were adopted: The vendor with the highest average for five rams at the last sale shall lead off with ten rams without ballot, the balance of his offering to be divided in half, one half to come in the first draw by ballot and the other half to come in the second half by ballot; a vendor offering less than four rams shall come into the first draw by ballot and a vendor offering four or more rams shall have the number divided, one half to come into the first draw by ballot and the other half to come into the second draw by ballot.
