Miss Doreen Kennedy, Opaki Road, is visiting Nelson. Mrs J. Carne Bidwill, of Pahautea, is on a visit to Rotorua.

Miss N. Sellar, Lansdowne, is staying at Paraparaumu Beach. Mrs C. C. Jackson, Kopuaranga, is spending a few days in Wellington. Mr and Mrs Alister Williams, Te Parae, are visiting Hawke’s Bay. Miss C. McMaster, of Masterton, has returned after a vist to Wellington. Lady Wilford will arrive at Wellington from London by the Tainui on July 20. Mrs H. Plested, of Napier, is the guest of Mrs I. A. Hart, College Street, Masterton. Miss Winifred Miller, who has been visiting Masterton, has returned to Napier. Mrs E. P. Cameron, Hinakura, will leave this week to spend a month s holiday in Sydney. Mrs C. Deans, Taueru, has been staying with her mother, Mrs G. C. Williams, Heretaunga. Mrs D. G. Sutherland, of Kahutara, together with Mr Sutherland, is spending a holiday in Auckland. Miss E. Daniell, Albert Street, Masterton, is staying with her sister, Mrs J. A. Smith, Palmerston North. Among the debutantes to be presented at the Charity Ball in Wellington tonight are Misses Margaret Rowles, Joyce Taylor and Patricia Seely, of Featherston. Miss May Beatty, who was a member of the Pollard Opera Company over 30 years ago, and has since toured New Zealand with J. C. Williamson's companies, is now in Hollywood, where she is kept busy in small parts in the films, and also has a profitable business in interior decoration. Miss Beatty is a New Zealander who' appeared many times in Masterton with the Pollard Company. Her sister, Maud Beatty, was also a prominent member of the company.
