“THE GOLDEN GIFT”
ART UNION DRAWN FIRST AND SECOND PRIZES TO OTAGO By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, This Day. First and second prizes in the “Golden Gift” art union, which was drawn at the Masonic Hall, Wellington, last night, went to Otago. The first prize of £2OOO was won by a ticketholder at Lake Waitaki, Mr. J. O’Donnell, who is employed at a switchboard operator at the Lake Waitaki hydro-electric power station. Mr O’Donnell, who is a married man with one child is 35 years of age. The second prize went to a ticket holder in Patearoa, a small settlement near 'Ranfurly. Upper Hutt took the third prize and ( joint ticket-holders of Melling and Miramar won the fourth. Auckland had to be content with two £lO prizes, Wellington people winning five and Christchurch people three. The list of prize-winners is as follows: — First Prize, £2OOO. 18826, J.
