COURSING

WAIRARAPA CLUB’S MEETING The Wairarapa Coursing Club will hold its fifth meeting of the present season next Saturday, when the Physick Challenge Cup (16 dog limit), and a Class Stake (8 dog limit), will be decided. Although nominations do not close until Wednesday night, both events are already filling rapidly, and everything points to the Club again having a most successful meeting. PHYSICK CUP The Physick Cup has always been the star event of the year. Last season the Waterloo Cup event somewhat eclipsed it, but next Saturday’s event will be this year’s premier event. Fortunately the hares are in rare fettle, having already been coursed at an earlier meeting. The coursing will be held wet or fine, and cars can be driven right up to the enclosure.
